Turner Building Science Adds More Green Power and Renewable Energy to Harrison Maine Branch Office

As part of its ongoing commitment to Sustainable Design philosophy and Healthy Buildings, on November 1, 2002, the Harrison Maine Branch Office of The H.L. Turner Group Inc. increased its commitment to sustainable energy now receiving approximately 85% of its annual electric power from a newly upgraded local utility interfaced Solar Power Photo-Voltaic (PV) system.

The PV system is interconnected with the Central Maine Power utility grid. The 5.4 kW system is comprised of 36 Astropower Modules on three Zomeworks pole mount passive trackers. 9 BP multi-crystaline panels on fixed mounts were recently added. All PV units are connected to a Trace utility interface inverter. The system uses no batteries. All major components are of US manufacture. Design assistance and procurement of solar components was accomplished through The Solar Market (Talmage Solar Engineering), in Arundel, Maine.
